Cycling
Since moving to London I have become an avid cyclist due to my 26 mile round trip to work. Through the excellent Ride to Work Scheme, I got an excellent bike (Specialized Allez 2006) and love it. It's really awesome. It's been just as quick (if not quicker) that using public transport and it keeps me fit.
I plan to add tutorials, cycle guides, tips and tricks and a variety of other useful information here, because I love cycling and hopefully people can learn from my experiences.
Please note: I reserve the right to remove this section when I inevitably get knocked off my bike by a London car driver...[psyche]
Cycling pet hates
-
Cyclists that ignore traffic signals
Especially when they are clearly slower than you, you passed them previously, and while waiting for traffic lights, then just ignore the signals and get in front of you again, holding you up even more! -
Large drain covers
Especially when the slots are facing the same way that you are travelling. Half of these are wider than my road bike wheels and one of these days I'll get stuck in one of them and fall! -
Pedestrians
Okay, not all pedestrians. The ones that have an amazing skill to to know there isn't anything coming when crossing the road without looking. Fine for cars as you can generally hear them, but just have a little look for cyclists. The best ones then blame you for their incompetence.
My bicycle, the Specialized Allez 2006.
